Laser Pipe Filament Runout Sensor
Provided as is:
This uses a small Laser to pass light through a transparent Bowden Tube Pipe to detect if the Filament has Runout or snapped.
No need to have any break in the Bowden Tube maybe good for flexible filaments.
I doubt if transparent filament will work with this.
There is a part for a small microswitch to be fitted to switch Laser off if the lid is opened for safety.
New Optical Filament RunOut Pass Through Tube Sensor works, manual testing

Create an Optical Filament RunOut that will not require a break in a Bowden Tube*, ideal for flexible filaments and easier to feed filament into, etc..
* For use with a clear Bowden Tube
Clear Bowden Tube see your filament

Needs some more work to try to to make it easier to set up, has to be adjusted just right.
Could be made smaller, I have plugs inside that could be wired in directly saving space.
