Layer Separation Strength Tests and Fixture

This simple test fixture allows you to test the strength and layer separation force of a 20mmx75mmx5mm sample bar using a bench vice. Simply clamp the fixture lighting in the vice and the samples with fit snug on the edge of the vice jaws ensuring a strong seat and repeatable measurements. Bars can be modified to test and compare various filaments and print settings to dial in your printer and ensure the best results for your project. Any force gauge may be used to apply force from the the top of the sample. The sides of the fixture also provide adequate clearance so that a string may be tied around the center of the bar and a pull force and/or weights may be applied from below the fixture. For my tests, I used a Soonkoda 110lb(500N) push/pull force meter available on Amazon for ~$40.
