I edited OpenSCAD to remove switch and screw holes, friction fit was tight enough. (set to 0 size to remove)
edited screw to allow to use counter sunk screws. added comments to make editing easier.

Added Probe Case to hold protection buffering PCB for 16 probe and 2 grounds.
Added ribs to hold PCB

I used 470R resistor in series with probes (100R to 512R could be used) and protection diodes to VCC / GND (CM1293A-04 or DVIULC6-4SC6 or USBLC6-4SC6 or 1N4148) mounted on Perforated PCB

Another option for protection is using 74LVC245 or TXS0108E IC's and protection diodes.
