Intended to be used as an indicator light in a panel or dash, for holes around 12mm in diameter, taking a 5mm LED. Originally I used hot glue to keep LED inside the holder, but this proved a bad idea to fit the wiring, as the 12mm hole is not large enough for the connectors. Instead the LED can now be installed after everything is hooked up from the rear of the assembly by inserting the LED and using the CAP to close.
Takes a 5mm LED, and fits on a hole 12mm in diameter. Use translucent filament so the color shows. I needed a green indicator light, and only had these 5-6mm while LEDs on hand, but I had green Inland PETG filament. I included the files on OpenScad to make the nut and "bolt".
Used Threads.scad NOT MINE, fantastic library built by Dan Kirshner...pretty slick! included as GNU per his comments on the file.
This is my second attempt. The small hole in the panel means that the connectors I wanted to use don't quite fit. I changed the design instead to allow installati
