Lefty Door Mod Snapmaker U1

My desk is lower and to the left of the U1, which also sits on an upper shelf. It was a little inconvenient with a righthand open door. So, I decided to design a simple frame that flips the door open to the left side. Still using all the same hardware. There are holes in the hinge area to add longer screws to hold the door in, if you feel the need. However, once fully assembled with the door installed there is no need for screws as the stock hinge boss is fully engaged into the frame, top and bottom. I sliced it in to 4 equal pieces, added connectors, printed on my U1.

Note in the images, the hinges are flipped facing outward, so the screw head is on the inside. This mod actually closes much of the gap that the door originally has. Also fully open, the door will swing over 180°.

To attached the frame to the printer housing, I used this 3m tape. It is super strong, and has held up for the last month without moving at all.
