I use the Levoit Core 300 air purifier with my 3D printers to keep the air clean. After the original filter ran out, I considered buying a new one but saw that they were quite expensive compared to the purifier's price. After closer inspection, I also noticed that the original filter didn't contain much activated carbon media, so I decided an upgrade was in order. Since I don't use the filter to clean the air of dust particles I simply vacuumed the outside of the original filter. Next, I designed an insert for the original filter that will hold as much activated carbon as possible. This is the result:The insert consists of 3 parts. The main basket shown in the picture, top, and bottom covers.The top cover is glued in place and the bottom one screws in so that the media can be replaced.
