It was one of the first airliners to prioritize passenger safety and comfort with features such as a pressurized cabin and state-of-the-art aerodynamics. The Electra gained fame as the aircraft flown by Amelia Earhart during her ill-fated attempt to circumnavigate the globe in 1937. Though initially aimed at commercial airlines, it found roles in cargo transport and military operations during WWII. The aircraft had a wingspan of 55 feet, a cruise speed of 190 mph, and a range of 810 miles, making it ideal for regional routes in its era.
