Lunar sampling system

Here I would show you my concept for the lunar sampling system. The cylinder shaped part is drill and sorting unit in one piece. The spiral is divided in three segments. The first segment is for "dust" or small particles, the second for rocks 5mm and <10mm, again small material to fill the gaps, bigger stones … than smaller etc.… If the material in the drill is too big for the spiral, you can throw it all out. For the use on a lander you need a robot arm with electrical connection. For faster sorting you can add a vibration device close to the spiral. The whole system is made of aluminium and the bearings are PTFE based. Weight should be <500g if the two small motors are not that heavy. You use only one motor at the same time, and then you would probably have no issue with the power supply. Regards, Alex
