Mad Quadcopter

A completely over-engineered Quadcotper.

I used the awesome Ardupilot 2.6. Some footage in flight:

I used a cheap "action cam" to take the videos.

The motor mounts contain 4 superbright leds each which are driven by one of the ESC's BEC output. I soldered the resistors for the leds into the channels in the motor mounts and then hotglued them tight. The cables go through the hollow arms.

The body took 24 hours to print. I had to print it "upright", on its side since printing it flat always ended up in severe warping. Since I printed everything in Colorfabb XT I had to print quite slow as well ( 30 mm/s ). It was worth it though. I spray painted it black in the end.

The arms are 10mm carbon fiber rods. Again a pain in the ass to get the screw holes to line up. Even with the attached harness ( armalignblock.stl ), it still didn't align perfectly and I had to force it into a somewhat correct orientation.
