Float a neodymium magnet mid-air? Challenge accepted. This project is a fully analog magnetic levitation system that I designed during my final semester as a physics student. Powered by a 12V coil wrapped around a solid steel core, it uses a Hall-effect sensor and an op-amp feedback loop (no microcontroller!) to continuously stabilize a heavy neodymium magnet roughly 2 inches below the coil. I calculated the magnetic force needed for stable levitation, optimized the coil for safe thermal performance, and fine-tuned the feedback circuit using good old-fashioned trial and error. It's a satisfying blend of electromagnetism, analog electronics, and hands-on problem solving. But this system is just the beginning. Whether you want to create a floating work of art, or you simply want to nerd out by levitating your favorite Millennium Falcon model, this is the perfect foundation. I’ve included the CAD files so you can remix the design—customize the stand, build a levitating sculpture, or 3D
