This is a small gadget I designed for my wife; she is a teacher and wanted an easy way to install magnetic cup hooks on an overhead steel beam in her classroom to hang some history related artwork.
This uses the "Neosmuk 28lb magnetic hooks" for sale on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-%EF%BC%ADaximum-Neodymium-Corrosion-Protection/dp/B0787Q54M1?crid=2C31WQDG15NPB&keywords=magnetic+cup+hook&qid=1678065059&sprefix=magnetic+cup+h,aps,881&sr=8-8&linkCode=sl1&tag=mattverley-20&linkId=80e0c3fdc9035989069513ef3cad9d18&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
The adapter uses 3/4-5 Acme threads with a 1 degree taper; this fits most painter-style extension poles. The cup hook slides in the end and can be precisely positioned and rotated. It can also be used to remove cup hooks by prying them off of the ferrous surface, however I also designed a second adapter (also available here) with an eye on the end, so she can just hook them and pop them off of the beam.
