Magnetic Pill Box

When printing boxes in PLA I have always struggled to find an effective way to secure the lid (PLA not being very bendy). I have solved the problem with this little pill box by using magnets and washers. The magnets I use are 6 mm in diameter and 4mm deep, the washers are 7 mm diameter by 0.5mm deep. They are secured in the box using Araldite.

The lid is quite loose fitting which means it snaps shut really easily once the magnets and washers are in place.

I think I will have a go at making a pen and pencil box next using a similar design.
