Magnetic Vent Connector

This is a quick, magnetic connection for my laser fume extractor so I can connect it when needed, but remove it and close the window in my basement. It uses the standard 4 inch dryer vent tubing.

The neodymium magnets are 7mm in diameter and 3mm thick. You'll need 8 of them. This is designed to be a press fit. I used my bench vise to press the magnets in. As such, I would recommend printing plenty of perimeters to strengthen the pockets. Depending on your tolerances, you may need to adjust the model (the Fusion 360 file is included for this thing). I just used 4 screws to attach it to the board I have mounted in the window.

So far, it's working really well and makes hooking up the vent much easier and quicker. Enjoy!
