This project is about making a very simple Magnetometer / Gauss meter. These instruments are used for measuring magnetic forces. Most Magnetometer / Gauss meters are very expensive devices, but if your needs are modest you can roll your own for only about $3.00! In my instance I use a Honeywell SS49E Hall Effect Sensor. It's simple 3 pin device that requires very little to get going & you can quite a bit out of for the effort & cost.

Check out my video, I goes into a number of implementations for interfaces for this simple and nifty little IC.

Later in the video I show a simple 3D printed box enclosure. The box is a something I've been wanting to find a simple project for. It's a little enclosure thats designed for wiring up a simple project that doesn't need a PC board.
