This is an upgrade to a broken magnifying lamp I rescued before it went in the trash. The original lamp was a 120v incandescent bulb in a bulky black housing. The switch and swivel were both broken so I decided to make a new housing all together. The magnifying glass seems to be 100mm in size (though I measured 99.75ish...close enough). It is held to the housing by a retainer ring screwed into place. I'm using 4mm wide 2835 LED light strips for illumination. The wiring will be run through the housing to a switch that is mounted and recessed on the side. It exits out the top to a 12v transformer I salvaged from other junk.
The swivel uses a M3x25 bolt with a nut inserted into the housing. It can be tightened to your liking. This along with a tight fit between the swivel and housing make for a nice sturdy pivot point for the magnifier. The swivel attachment to the lamp arm will be up to you using the 4mm hole.
The retainer ring uses 10 screws to hold it in place. The ho
