Mahatma Gandhi

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (October 2, 1869 – January 30, 1948), revered as Mahatma (“Great Soul”), was an Indian lawyer, anti-colonial nationalist, and political ethicist who pioneered nonviolent civil disobedience. Leading landmark campaigns—the 1930 Salt March, the Quit India Movement, and nationwide Satyagraha protests—he mobilized millions against British rule.
