I needed something to seal wire into the the large hole in my splash-well (above the water line) that was needed to pass the connector through. I found this part:

And decided that this is something I can print and save some $$$$. Started with the makerbot knurled nut since it was the right size and I was too lazy to make my own threads that print well.

I used the solid nut to get more torque. The split nut tends to slip when you tighten it.

Update: I have used this as a gland in several locations now and it works quite well
