This is a 3D printed Mars Rover that I made with Aamir Fidai. Unlike all of the other rovers that only have articulation in the suspension, this rover also has servos at each end to accommodate turning using methods other than differential wheel power. This addition does add a little bit of complexity, but is incredibly rewarding to build and play with.
My website contains the links to parts and how to download the program needed to run the rover: https://lucastjom.weebly.com/mars-rover.html
To complete this build you will need:
- M4 X 30 Bolts
- M3 X 30 Bolts
- M4, M3 Nuts
- 8 AA battery holder (power Arduino and motors)
- 6 yellow geared motors with wheels
- 4 SG90, 9 gram servos (or generic 9 gram servos)
- Arduino Uno
- Arduino Uno Motor shield
- Bluetooth Module
Alternatives:
- L298N instead of the Arduino motor shield (might need to change the code a little)
- you could use Arduino Nano with the L298N but there are no mounting locations for it
- LIPo Batte
