Reduce waste and cut costs by printing your own, re-useable spool and buying refill filament.
The 2 pieces will print out without any problems and are designed to screw together. As colour is not normally an issue for this kind of item, why not use up all your odds and ends of filament?
The refills are held together with re-useable cable-ties. Simply line the slots with the ties and undo them. Note, the diameter of the hole is 52.5mm.
When you need to change the filament on the Masterspool, simply re-tie the cables, un-screw the halves and lift off the filament.
The Masterspool has been designed to be 3D printed and does not need supports or any special settings. To save time, you can print using the lowest res settings.
Bed too small to print? No worries, see our modified version here, designed and tested for small beds! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3175515
