Makes
An overengineered box for breeding mealworms. Start by filling both chambers with oats (rolled oats from the grocer work just fine). Then, place a piece of carrot or potato in each chamber (mealworms get moisture from their food, make sure to replace daily). Finally, place the larvae (worms) in the bottom chamber and the pupae and beetles in the top. When mealworm beetles breed, they burrow down to lay their eggs. The holes in the bottom of the top chamber allow the eggs to fall through and hatch in the bottom chamber. If you use translucent PETG, the indents in the chambers act as windows for you to observe the insects. A optional cover for the window is included, since mealworms prefer the dark. The tray on the bottom allows you to remove the upper chamber without losing any eggs.
