A better 3-to-8 decoder design can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3666410
This is my interpretation of how a mechanical address decoder might be build. It is inspired by the Zuse Z1 and Z2 programmable calculators.
The gray baseplate is only to guide the red address lines and the blue address selected bars. The actual decoding is in the address selected bars. The forth (left most) address line is actually an enable line.
**This thing is replaced by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3666410 which is mechanically more in line with the other Zuse inspired parts.**
