An interesting idea i found on only one site on the internet, so i decided to make my own version of it as a first designing proyect, and hopefully it can get improved upon. The main idea of my "mechanical fuse" is to indicate the overtension of a string by breaking when a certain tension threshold is surpassed.
The setup is pretty straightforward, you load the fuse from the side of the string, and tighten it up via bolts, making it sure the string slacks in the middle, so the fuse is taking the stress from the tension.
It´s designed to be printed with no rafts or supports. To scale the model the rule of thumb is that the inner diameter (the desired diameter given by the string) is half of the outside diameter (wich should be the smallest one given by one of the axes of the slicing software)
If you have any ideas for improvement or comments please let me know!
