Media filter using any plastic bottle. This will screw on the top of a standard soda bottle allowing water to flow through. I used 8mm ID silicon tubing to attach to a small pump, same for outlet tube. The hose barbs are 10mm OD.This needs to sit inside a sump. It is a split part to allow hose connections to stay still and not twist while unscrewing lid. It will not seal water tight without a gasket so it is best inside the sump. Works perfectly for media such as rowaphos (this is what I designed it for). The media should lift slightly but not so much it rises to the top. The 1mm holes are enough to prevent rowaphos from escaping. The aim of the design was to make a disposable media filter as cleaning and refilling was a job I didn't like doing. As we all know in the reef keeping hobby, if a job is easy then it happens more often. The cap is easy to remove in the sump and leave running while the bottle is removed. The bottle can be emptied, rinsed and binned either right away or at
