High load on the y-axis motor of my cheap Prusa i3 from China caused it to loose steps. As the motor itself didn't feel too warm but the heat-sink on the Melzi board felt quite hot, I decided to add a fan. A small fan would be sufficient but the 4 small heat-sinks are in a row that is longer than the width of a small fan. In order to solve this problem an to increase the efficiency of the cooling I decided to design a tube that leads the air to the heat-sinks like a CPU-cooler does. To direct the air-flow to the heat-sinks I closed the space between and left gaps for parts on the PCB.
In order to not get in conflict with the motor for the X-axis and it's wires I let the tube bend by 45°.
This is all configurable, so you are welcome to adjust the parameters to your board and test and publish the result as a remix.
