There's a popular DIY for turning a cheap Harbor Breeze solar light into a Meshtastic node. Unfortunately, that light doesn't seem to be available anymore. I designed this base to work with a newer model light that was readily available near me.This design has several advantages over the original DIY: It works with the solar panel's existing adjustment mechanism, keeps your antenna in a vertical orientation, and can be mounted on a roof (rather than a wall). I made a small plug for the on/off switch opening that I use to provide access to open air for my environment sensor. If you're not using an environment sensor, you can leave the stock plug in place. The arm of the mount has a dovetail that securely attaches to the base. I'm including a flat base, but the pitch of the base can be adjusted to match your roof. If you need help with that, let me know.I plan to write a full tutorial on how to build this project on fiddly.net.
