This is a technique you can use to create metallic parts using your 3D printer.
It’s really simple. Instead of printing your figure, create a mold of the figure using ABS (ABS can be easily removed using acetone).
Then melt some lower temperature alloy (usually a lead alloy with lower melting point than ABS) and fill the mold.
Finally remove the ABS using acetone. This can take some time, but you will have a metallic part instead of a plastic one.
For more info and a step-by-step guide you can check my webpage: http://frax3d.com/en/metal-casting-3d-printed-abs-molds-to-be-eliminate-with-acetone
In this example you can see a Pikachu downloaded from Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:376601)
