Ever since I uploaded my standard drill index, people have asked for a metric version. I finally got off my butt and designed one.
Looking at all the metric size offerings, I decided to use half size increments. This way you can fill it in as you assemble the bits. Like the other, I wanted to have storage capacity for a couple of extra bits for each size when possible. The only two that wouldn't fit duplicates were 14.5 and 15 mm.
This is the same footprint as my fractional bit index at 3x4 grid spacing. I used the same template builder that only populates magnet holes for the first 3 squares. I prefer not to use them anyway as the index is heavy enough to stay stable and the holes only take more time to print.
I have the holes sized .016" oversized, with my printer this gives a good fit without binding or rattling. I also use 3 row walls so that I can trim up the hole if needed but typically its not required.
I would be sure to use 15 or 20% infill to make sure that the smaller
