I've lost a few knobs off my mic stands in the thirty+ years I've been making Celtic music: the local music store never has replacements, and in any case stock knobs are too small for my arthritic hands to get tight enough to really hold a mic in place. As usual, 3d printing to the rescue!
These prints are just the knob portion: you'll need 6mm hex bolts for the rest, I use 6mm x 25mm (about 1" long). (The guy at the hardware store may try to tell you the bolts are 1/4": don't believe him!)
Note: the hex socket on the knob is just a little too small. This is deliberate: use pliers to squeeze the hex head of the bolt into the space, and it will hold tight. Heat the knob a little if you need to soften the plastic the fit the bolt in.
There are two versions: a 20mm (just under 1", about the stock size) and 26mm (just over 1") for easier gripping.
