I bring to you, the Micro 3 Jaw Scroll Chuck. This little guy is great for polishing rings and (very) light duty turning with soft woods.
The overall diameter is 37mm.
**As with any scroll chuck, it is very important that the jaws interface with their affiliated slot. (I.E. Jaw 1 goes in Slot 1 etc)
On the inside face of the Housing are debossed 'dots' to denote each slot. Same thing on the top surfaces of each jaw.**
You can print this in one shot but I found it much cleaner to print each component individually.
*No Supports
*Do NOT use a brim or raft on the jaws unless you love post processing with an exacto knife. (Skirt works best)
This design uses a M3 screw as a shank. I initially had it with the hex end of the screw getting chucked up but wound up reversing the direction by reaming the 3mm axial blind hole out (the floor of that hole is only 1 or 2 mm thick) which offered better overall performance.
Hardware Required:
x1 M3x 25-35mm bolt
x1 M3 nut
x2 M2x
