This is a small measuring spoon originally made for Chematox Lab, Inc. in order to repeatedly measure 200 milligrams of UCT's QuEChERS salts (MGSO4/NaCL - US preparation) and distribute the salt into standard microcentrifuge tubes. Salt is scooped up into the spoon and leveled off. The funnel is then snapped on and used to pour (tap) the salt into a container.
This spoon can easily be resized to suit the repeated, fixed measurement of many laboratory solids. Make sure to print with a plastic that won't contaminate your process (This obviously depends on your intended use, but nylon is likely a good general fallback. I used HIPS as it seems to be relatively resistant to many polar solvents ). Keep in mind most ffm plastics available will absorb water and therefor deform slightly over time, periodically confirm your print still holds the intended measurement quality. If your spoon is going to be around any solvents you may also want to make sure it's not going to melt.
