The kickstarter 3D printer Migo comes with a spool holder capable of taking only 250 - 300g spools. I don't have many of those so I modeled and printed t his holder for full-sized spools. It is printed in PETG. I recommend PETG or ABS. PLA my be too brittle and there is into much meat in the area the spool rod screws into.
The spool holder is in 2 parts and slides onto the Migo frame. It should not be used as a handle to move the printer around. It was printed on a Prusa I3 MK3s with the holder tilted at a an angle to fit in the build volume of the Mk3s.
Use support from the build plate only for both pieces. Using generic PET settings in Prusa Sli3r and speed at 100mm/s it took 9 hours to print spool holder and 3 for the rod.
