A forest of slender pylons rises from the scarred earth, each one humming with the faint charge of buried munitions. The ground around them is pitted and uneven, dotted with telltale impact craters where earlier trespassers tested their luck. Commanders use these markers to corral enemy forces into killing lanes, while terrified scouts pray that the next step they take will not be their last above the surface.
