Due to a few requests and as a way of displaying the model I have designed a simple two piece cowling and a stand. I have designed it to be printed without supports in the orientation they have been uploaded in. It is supposed to resemble a simplified version of the outdoor test bench that is used to run the engines off a plane.
I designed this model based on a similar concept a saw that I thought could be improved upon of a gas turbine engine. It has been designed to allow printing without the need for any supports and does not require any infill to print correctly. The model has also been designed to work with a standard 0.4mm nozzle or smaller.
The model prints as three pieces that simply snap together nice and tightly without any wobble. The orientation of the connector in the original file is critical to give it the required strength and durability.
If you are planning this to any kids I highly recommend gluing it together.
