Case for a small pocket sized radiation detector. It detects beta and gamma radiation using a SI29BG tube. It doesn't count, there's an audible "click" when a hit is detected.
It's powered by 2 CR2032 connected in series, they're connected directly to the audio amplifier. The IMEX is soldered onto the potentiometer of the amplifier. This serves both as ON/OFF and volume control.
2 Versions of the case are added:
One takes M3 bolts directly, the thread will tap itself.
The other version takes brass M3 inserts.
Parts list:
2x M3x10 bolt
1.5K resistor
100K resistor
330pF capacitor
IMEX HV power supply
SI29BG
20MM Speaker
PAM8403
Brass insert
Be careful when making this project, the IMEX power supply can output rather high voltages which can be quite dangerous.
This build was inspired by this project by Tim.
