Abstract:
Model is a mini, portable chess set intended for individual studying. Features a "peg" design to ensure that all chess pieces remain secure during gameplay, and will soon include a closeable clam-shell style lid to save and resume games at any time.
Assembly Instructions:
There are 64 pieces total - 32 chess pieces and 32 tiles. The tolerances were designed so that, once the tiles snap into place, they cannot easily be moved. However, if any are loose, they can also be glued into place. Two different filament colors recommended, dual extruder printer not required.
Design Specifications:
• Chess board (playable area): 4”x 4”
• Size: 5”x 5”
• Tile size: 0.5”
• King Height: 1.35”
• Peg diameter: 0.12”
• Peg length: 0.24”
Future additions:
• 3D-printed closeable clam-shell lid secured by a pin-style hinge.
• Extra tile spaces to serve as placeholders for captured chess pieces.
• All chess pieces will be rescaled to the same height to accommodate lid.
