Makes
A small DC powered drum sander.
Uses 1 3/16" x 9" | 30 x 229mm sand paper.
I use Norton 93x 229mm sandpaper and just cut it to 30mm.
The two small DC motors are 16.5k RPM with little torque to prevent overheating PLA prints. Be sure to dab water on the drum to keep the parts cool. Not to much or you will be taking a shower.
I used 8 AA batteries to compensate for the low torque of the small DC motors I used.
The sandpaper is held in with a small plastic wedge (Not Included) or you can use a rubber band offset to one side.
With the 8 AA batteries, this thing moves so make sure the wedge is tight or it will fly out.
**Protect your eyes, always wear safety glasses!**
The drum pin is a bit undersized. Used a piece of heatsink over the pin to tighten things up and it really quiets the sander.
Pictured is the prototype, I have not printed the included model.
