Developed as an asteroid mining droid, the KM1 Mining droid proved extremely effective at deep space fuel excavation. These droids would often work in small groups of 2 or 3, with a fourth droid acting as a foreman. Their lasers were more than capable of cutting through rock with extreme precision.

Under extreme conditions, the droid would activate it's energy and heat shielding to protect from potential fuel explosions.
