SummaryAs part of the 107 Dolphins Team, I worked with CAD, Arduinos, the Arduino Cloud, and a myriad of sensors to design an innovative prototype for caretakers of children with autism. This prototype solution was for a problem where children with autism were approaching and opening kitchen cabinets which proved to be a safety concern. Hence, this prototype assists in providing caretakers with reliable information about whether a child has approached a hazard. In addition, this prototype uses sound as a measure of preventing/deferring a child from approaching said hazard. On the team, I assisted in 3D printing the housing case, coding the Arduino to take in the Ultrasonic sensor input, and relaying outputs through LEDs and a buzzer. Furthermore, buzzer activation was relayed to the Arduino Cloud to inform parents/guardians of their children having approached a cabinet or unwanted "thing."MIT Cre[at]e Challenge Prototype + Video Demonstration - Cabinet Deferment Prototype
