This is the model of a a small (6 inch) wood working mitre smoothing plane.

The bed angle is 20 degrees and the blade is sharpened to 30 degrees, resulting in a cutting angle of 50 degrees.

The metal plane is made from steel with the sides [silver] brazed on. The silicon bronze pins hold the sole in place during brazing. The blade spine is welded on. The blade is made from a Stanley bench plane blade cut length wise.
The can read about the process at:

Note: The plane in the photos have had an hour or so of sanding on the sides and lever cap.

###To assemble the plane you will need:
- 1/8" and 1/16" drills.
- Hand chuck to hold drill so you can ream holes without power.
- 1/4"-20 tap (maybe). I tap. You might be able to use a bolt to clean the thread.
- 1/4"-20 die (probably not), a nut will work to clean the thread.

- 1/8" rod, 1" long (I use welding rod).
- 1/16
