I used a stainless "Everbuilt" home depot brand stainless screw, and it the head was too big for the original STL. So I remixed it. I had more difficulties with this than with the original, designed for the w126 instead of the w163 because there is less room in the door cavity in the w163 for a 1 inch screw.

Like the original, you will have to drill out the original mounting rivet on the end of the regulator arm, then drill the hole out to 5/16".

I used a 7/8" screw, attached one jam nut inside of the regulator arm, and the other on the outside of the regulator arm, secured with a lock washer. In my implementation, the screw head rotates in the plastic slider, whereas the original remixed design had the regulator arm rotating around the screw, and the screw secured to the slider. My thinking is that I'd rather have metal rub against nylon than metal against metal. Is it better? Time will tell.
