I've seen similar modern wall hooks made out of wood and wanted to see if I could create something similar.

This is being used as a hand towel hook in our guest bathroom. I plan on trying this out as a coat hook too in the garage. It should hold just fine. I will most likely use a 30mm bolt for coats.
