After searching through Thingiverse for some time, I realized that collectors had no good options for generic display shelves. Like many others in various hobbies, I found myself running out of room for displaying my collection, so I decided I would design my own shelves and share them with others.
I had several goals for this project. First, the Figure Shelf needed to be printed support-free. I designed this shelf specifically so it could be printed vertically without any supports. Printing the layers this way also strengthened the shelf horizontally.
Second, it needed to be strong enough to hold a heavy figure but be designed to use as little filament as possible. I wanted this shelf to be usable for all collectors, not just collectors with light figures. In my testing, each shelf can hold at least 20lbs (using four legs, of course), but I’m sure it could hold more.
Third, it had to be modular. I didn’t want to lock anyone into using a specific setup. You can print as many s
