Modular Molecules

Model This 3d model is a building set to make your own atoms and molecules. You can differentiate the different atoms by color and size. I made sure to model 2 different sizes, hydrogen is commenly used as a small atom. To make an atom you print both halves, which you can easily connect with a small piece of 1.75mm filament. You can also combine the two halves by gluing them, but this is optional. Each atom has 6 holes where you can use 1.75mm filament as a connector between the molecules. Measurements The small molecule has a diameter of 15mm. The large molecule had a diameter of 20mm. Molecule printing: I got the best results with printing by object instead of printing by layer, this reduces the amount of atom halves per build plate but increaces the quality.
