This mounts on the backside of the carriage serving two purposes; it makes the nozzle and print more visible than other layer coolers, and it moves some weight to better balance the carriage on the rail.
Yes it is very close to the height of the nozzle, however I have not hand any issues with it contacting prints.
The fanduct slides up into place, then the cap slides on horizontally to hold it in place.
