Sometimes I design for fun, sometimes for necessity. This is one of those necessity ones.
I wanted a vertical monitor but didn’t have a monitor that was capable and didn't really want to pay the price for a new monitor since I had one that worked just fine. So, I adapted a purely landscape monitor to be portrait style. I think its one of the best things for freeing up desk space, watching vertical format videos, and stacking programs vertically while multi-tasking on multi-screens. Heck I'm using it right now to multiscreen while typing this out!
The concept was based on some other 3D models I’ve done to hold my cell phone for photography (see the YouTube video linked below for an example). I basically just had to scale everything up by a HUGE factor and add some other design elements. Lot’s of 3D printed screws were used (I’m proud of that), but they are standard sizes (in the USA) and could always be purchased if there is any fear of plastic screws not being adequate. Please us
