Fun fact: my mom's old Monkees albums were the first music I learned how to play ON PURPOSE. everything I listened to before that was just heard randomly on the radio. Putting a record on a record player because you wanted to hear a certain song meant I could skip over "I wanna be free" and go right to the fun of "Gonna buy me a dog".
