When designing our basement monorail layout, I wasn't happy with the "trapeze" style ceiling mounts I've seen elsewhere. I liked the idea of a 1990's "Tomorrowland" look. I designed this ceiling mount system that accommodates both single and dual tracks.

I printed my side supports with a filament color change to highlight the details. Easy to do with Prusa slicer. I also printed a few mirror image side supports - Right click object in Prusa, select Mirror & axis.

Most of my sides, tops, and bases are pressure fitted. A few were a little loose so I used a couple drops of super glue gel hold them together.

Mounts are screwed into the ceiling with small 6 x 1 1/4" drywall screws.

Distance from ceiling to bottom of base is 8 1/4". That's just above the doorframe and bookcase woodwork in our basement.
