Introduction
This is an update of my CNC build done 3 years ago.
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2032881
Since the last update, I have changed the Z axis to include more off-the-shelf metal parts and changed the dremel tool to a 150W brushless spindle. KP08 bearings are used to hold the T8 rod in place as the servo motor shaft is not rigid and have a lot of play.
The brushless spindle is a worthwhile upgrade. It is much quieter than the dremel tool. Runout is also much less than dremel tool. Now, I can mill PCB with 20 mil trace.
I've been using this CNC to mainly mill PCB. With the brushless spindle, I've been able to do it while my wife is around. Previously, with dremel tool, it was so noisy, I'll wait for her to be out of the house to do it.
