Tested, and failed. the 5/16" SS rod provided almost no backlash, where this allows the Z axis to "float" about 0.25mm when cutting fast, leaving a rough surface.

Might work well for a 3d printer or laser cutter build; but any sort of spindle will jump.


NOT TESTED! Still waiting for my ACME Nut

This is designed to fit the C Center carriage for the MPCNC, to replace the threaded rod and coupling nut with an acme screw.

The ACME Nut from ebay *should* slide in, but it will be a tight fit. Recommend (carefully) heating the acme nut to ~230C, and seating it in by re-flowing the ABS. Less play = less backlash. Fit must be very snug. This is the soul of your machine!

4x M3x20 Panhead bolts
4x M3 Locknuts

Again, this has not been tested yet, just a rough draft.
