These pillars are designed to hold a 1/2" hex nut and allow a 1/2" threaded rod to pass through them. By combining these with some sturdy terrain tiles you can make multi-tiered tabletop terrain for your game.
Some notes on the build shown in the pictures:
- A SnapMaker 1.0 was used to print all pieces.
- Full sized pieces were attached together using superglue. A threaded rod was pushed through both pieces to make sure they lined up perfectly.
- Threaded rod was cut into 2" pieces using a metal grinder. A hacksaw would also work.
- Boards used in my build were [3/4" MDF](https://www.homedepot.ca/product/alexandria-moulding-3-4-inch-x-24-inch-x-48-inch-mdf-handy-panel/1000165106) This provided a lot of strength and also allowed me to countersink the washer and nut on the bottom piece so that it could sit flush on the table.
- MDF boards were covered with cheap foamboard that had the paper removed from both sides. This cheap and thin foam accepts texture really well. White
